Pray

I am humbled each time someone reminds me that they pray for me and my family consistently. Thank you. As Christians we all have a Biblical mandate to pray for government leaders and all those in authority in our nation. Because I also happen to be one of those government leaders, and I can tell you first hand that I am grateful for the prayer support of so many people. Please continue to pray for wisdom, decision making discernment and the protection of the staff and our families. Also pray that we would be wise with our time each day, since there is more to do each moment than could possibly be accomplished.

Obviously, I pray with you for our nation and the direction of our country. The hope of the earth is not government, but God. Government cannot fix families, restore a broken culture or heal the lonely isolation of so many individuals. Stronger families and stronger churches meet the needs of people far better than a strong government. In the days ahead, I pray our nation remembers and lives our national motto, In God We Trust.
