We Must Protect our Borders
Anything beginning with the word “Illegal” should not be as tough as we have made it. The federal government has the responsibility to protect our borders and enforce immigration policies that benefit the citizens of the United States. We must stop illegal crossings at any border. Illegal immigration is both a social justice issue and an economic issue. If there are seasonal jobs American citizens are not taking on, there should be a way for people from other countries to fulfill those job needs in the short term; at a wage consistent with American workers. Illegal aliens cannot be treated like slaves in our country because they came here illegally. But we should not provide illegal workers free health care and in-state tuition rates for college education, that only creates an incentive to come to the U.S. illegally.
