The latest poll has just been released and we are in second, with serious momentum! The other two candidates in the race have EACH outspent us more than three to one, yet we are firmly in second and climbing. The last two weeks are all about who can spread the word and get their friends and family to actually VOTE.
Commercials are never as effective as your personal contact. Would you please send an e-mail or Facebook message to 10-20 people who you know in the 5th District (Oklahoma, Pottawatomie or Seminole counties) to let them know WHY you are supporting James Lankford for US Congress how they can get more information at www.JamesLankford.com.
Thank you, we are working together to change the status quo in Washington. Don’t forget to vote July 27 (or vote in-person absentee Friday, Saturday or Monday before July 27 at the county election board location).
SoonerPoll – July 13, 2010
SoonerPoll’s most recent poll finds the field is narrowing as clear front-runners appear in the Republican primary race for Oklahoma’s fifth district U.S. Representative seat. Former State Representative Kevin Calvey, who was leading when SoonerPoll first fielded this race in March, remains the leader with support from 27.8 percent Republicans whom are likely to vote in the 5th District primary on July 27th.
Political newcomer James Lankford has moved into the second place position with19.9 percent, while State Representative Mike Thompson, who was previously the second place candidate is currently in third with support from 14.1 percent of respondents.
Robert Weber a respondent from Oklahoma City said he wants to vote for Lankford precisely because he is fresh to politics. “It is time to get rid of the professional politicians that is why I am voting for Lankford,” Weber said.
“What we might be seeing, is a consequence of the campaign strategies of Lankford and Calvey,” Keith Gaddie, Vice President of SoonerPoll noted. “Lankford is attempting to bring new voters into the process, while the Calvey campaign is going after active, core conservatives.”

I wish I lived in the 5th district. I’d vote for James Lankford. James is a Christian family man who led Falls Creek Baptist Assembly youth camp for years. He understands that Oklahoma needs a fresh voice, someone who stands for God and families. James has my full support through prayer!

I am voting for James Lankford because I agree with his stance on the pertinent issues, know he is a strong Christian conservative and will be the best person to send to Washington as our next Congressman. I am encouraging all
of my friends & family to vote for James on my Facebook page as well as actively campaigning in my community.
Although I fundamentally support both Lankford and Calvey on conservative beliefs I feel strongly sending fresh faces to DC is mandatory! I do not know Lankford personally but I’m hearing everything positive about him and Calvey I have met many times and watched him close in the state house. Calvey is a solid conservative with a strong backbone but I just can’t get past the fact he’s a career politician and spent his life building a resume` for the sole purpose of advancing his political career. I’m voting Lankford in the primary but would gladly support either in the general election.
